About the maker: Kate Kilmurray comes from a long line of women who worked with their hands, which inspired her to pursue a career in the visual arts. She practices weaving as a form of embodied meditation. Making beautiful handwoven textiles helps her to tap into her inner stillness and creativity; and she teaches women to do the same—to slow down, engage the rhythms of the body, and tap into a state of wholeness and flow. She believes that by incorporating handweavings in our homes, we can bring more depth, beauty, and meaning to our daily lives.
